Upgraded EN36 steel non-stepped 3 synchro pre-A+ type layshaft. If you are rebuilding your gearbox it is always a smart idea to replace your layshaft. A worn layshaft can rapidly cause destruction in your gearbox and harm your engine, so be sure to renew any layshaft with pitting or wear.
 
Pre-A+ layshafts used three bearings, whereas A+ types used only two.
